ABOUT ME


What cooking means to me

As the child of Chinese and French Canadian immigrants, I grew up eating a lot of very different but equally delicious foods. When I came home from school I’d gorge myself on my mother's sweet and sour pork ribs and fried rice while on the weekends I’d make crêpes and croque monsieurs with my father.

 

I still remember the first time I cooked something by myself for my family. I was 6 years old and volunteered to cook brunch. At the time, the only thing I had ever practiced making was scrambled eggs. I remember carefully cracking the egg into the pan and caringly stiring the eggs the way I saw my father do it. A sense of joy and accomplishment washed over me as I watched the smiles on my parent's faces as they ate it.

Cooking for me is a way of connecting people. It’s how I share my love with those around me and make them smile. On this website I share with you my cuisine adventures, favorite dishes, and "go to" places to eat. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!>
